This legislation provides emergency funding to address the crisis in Darfur.

Purpose: This legislation provides the following funding to address the crisis in Darfur:

  • $400 million to support the United Nations-African Union peacekeeping mission to Darfur, including tens of millions to train and equip UNAMID troops and police to speed up deployment
  • $420 million for International Disaster and Famine Assistance worldwide, a significat portion of which will go to Darfur’s vulnerable civilians
  • $70 million to support preparations for the 2009 Sudanese National Elections
  • Funding for the Office of the Special Envoy to Sudan

We believe every precaution must be taken to protect children online. Save Darfur does not knowingly ask children 13 and under for any information. Visitors who are 13 or under should ask a parent or legal guardian for assistance when using Save Darfur and should not submit any personally identifiable information.
