Africa Noel

Noël This is epic, having the honor of being able to collaborate with Sarah McLachlan, I couldn't resist getting my drums out and adding my own parts to the song. Now, being black, being Scottish and being the drummer from Simple Minds and Sarah being Sarah it was bound to turn out special. In fact Sudan Noel says it all. I love the vocal track. I completely reworked the arrangement to give the song a more upbeat feel throughout and a chorus that begs audience participation. I have also added new textures and colors to match Sara's delivery as she weaves the Christmas story in her unique way. Traveling with her from the western Christian celebration of Jesus' birth to the event itself in the Middle East and ultimately to Africa the source of all. Given the tragedy that has befallen the Middle East and certain parts of Africa such as Darfur it is vital that we communicate in such a way as to cause and realize the true message of Christmas "Peace and goodwill to all the people's of earth". This is an intensely passionate collaboration. The result is an irresistible version of a Christmas Carol with which I am sure you are familiar. The first Noel.
