Spring Into Action Week '07

Welcome to William Paterson University's Dollars for Dafur Page.

With your help, we can make a difference for the people of Darfur. Each day in Darfur, hundreds of people are raped, starved and/or murdered by the Sudanese armed forces and a Sudanese government-backed militia known as the Janjaweed. At least 400,000 people have died and more than 2 million Darfurians have been left homeless. The United Nations Security Council authorized that peacekeepers be deployed to Darfur, but the Sudanese government has not yet allowed them entry. Meanwhile, the calculated campaign of displacement, starvation, rape, and mass slaughter continues.

College students can make a big difference. Join us for "Spring into Action Week '07," sponsored by WPBN-TV and the SDccc (Save Darfur campus and community campaign) to learn how YOU can make a difference! Events include:

• Wednesday, April 18th, "Understanding the Genocide in Darfur, Sudan: Analysis and Intervention"
