Bring Justice and Accountability to Darfur

The current work of the International Criminal Court (ICC) plays a key role in the pursuit of justice and accountability. After the U.N. Security Council referred the Darfur situation to the ICC in 2005, prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo opened a formal investigation into war crimes in Darfur. In 2007, the ICC issued its first two arrest warrants for suspects of crimes in Darfur.

On Wednesday March 4, 2009, the ICC judges issued an arrest warrant for General Omar al-Bashir, the Sudanese president.

Tune in for a webcast by the Save Darfur Coalition and the Enough Project. The webcast is scheduled for the afternoon of March 9, 2009 and will feature a discussion of what the ICC's decision on the Bashir warrant means. More details coming soon.
