16 Days Of Activism Against Gender Violence

This year, the Save Darfur Coalition is marking the internationally-observed 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence, running from November 25th, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, to December 10th, International Human Rights Day. This link serves to emphasize that women's rights are human rights, and that each of us has a responsibility to act when human rights are violated. Each day for 16 days, the coalition's unique campaign will honor a leader in the fight to empower, protect and uplift women in Sudan and offer a corresponding action for activists.

President Obama: Make Sudan a Priority in China and Japan

President Obama is leaving for China and Japan this Thursday.

We need to reinforce the president's resolve by showing that tens of thousands of activists support his new strategy on Sudan, building multilateral support to pressure Sudan to change its behavior.

Given China's influence over Khartoum, President Obama must make Sudan a priority in his talks with China.

This movement has always been about citizens of conscience and courage like you speaking out together—so please, sign onto the petition today!

Turn words into action

More than two months ago, President Obama reminded us of his commitment and obligation to end the atrocities in Darfur. Since then, we've been anxiously waiting to see his plan for peace.

The Obama administration now appears close to finalizing their plan, but much depends on when and how it is released. President Obama must personally announce his plan, and clearly state his commitment to that plan as a national priority.

Please tell President Obama to personally roll out his plan NOW.
