Rep. McGovern took to the House floor to highlight the humanitarian disaster unfolding in South Sudan.

Earlier today Congressman Jim McGovern delivered a speech on the floor of the House of Representatives about the international community’s silence as the Sudanese government continues to attack civilians in Darfur, Abyei, South Kordofan and Blue Nile. Representative McGovern called on the United States and international community to increase pressure on Sudan to allow the delivery of aid and to reach a ceasefire agreement to protect civilians suffering in South Kordofan and Blue Nile.

Representative McGovern has been a strong supporter of peace in Sudan and will be taking part in the March 16th day of action calling for humanitarian access and an end to violence. Click here to learn more about how to participate.
